Erin Marie Morrissey is a painter whose work explores the quiet significance of ordinary objects. Working across drawing and painting, she is drawn to familiar, overlooked, and sometimes disposable subjects, rendering them with an attention that shifts their meaning and presence.
Rooted in observational drawing and realism, her practice moves between careful representation and a more intuitive approach to color, gesture, and abstraction. Across both, the act of looking remains central: what we notice, what we overlook, and how sustained attention can transform something commonplace.
Morrissey has exhibited work in New York, Boston and Ireland and is currently based in Connecticut.
